The courts are failing victims like Codie because these pathetic sentencing laws treat animal cruelty like a minor nuisance. I am sick of watching abusers walk away with a slap on the wrist while our pets suffer. We are forcing these officials to look at the blood on their hands until they finally change the law.

THIS IS LONG OVERDUE. LOCK THEM UP.
Too many people hurting dogs and getting no jail time. Codie deserves justice.
Cruelty is cruelty. Doesnt matter if the victim cant talk. Throw the book at these people.
it is heartbreaking that these monsters get away with a slap on the wrist while these poor animals suffer. change the laws now!
The punishment needs to actually hurt them back. If they can abuse a helpless animal they should lose their freedom.

My heart breaks for what happened to Codie. Please make sure no other pet has to endure that kind of pain.
