- Express our deep concern about the current state of the Cock Inn, which appears to have been abandoned to become increasingly derelict, vulnerable to vandalism, and an eyesore at the centre of the village; and
- Call upon the effective sole owner of the Cock Inn, Sir Anthony Gallagher, to end his company’s silence, to clarify his intentions for the future of this valuable community asset, and to engage in meaningful dialogue with the village on these matters.

Seeing these names stack up reminds me how much this building means to our village history. We are nearing the five hundred mark so please text this link to a neighbor who wants to see the Cock Inn restored. We need to keep this momentum moving until we force a response.

Seeing one hundred people sign this shows I am not the only one saddened by the decay of the Cock Inn. It belongs at the heart of our village instead of sitting there as a rotting shell. We finally have enough momentum to demand the answers we deserve from Sir Anthony.

I live in Stonesfield and experienced the sad sight of our only pub, The White Horse, closed and abandoned for many years. So sad to see this happening to the Cock in Combe. We know this can be turned around, like our pub which is now thriving under community ownership.
Lets look to the future of the village. A village without a shop or a pub!! And an eyesore. Estate Agents cannot sell properties in Combe stating village with a pub! Its also a fantastic way of meeting people.
What all should be proud of as a quintessential English village it is currently blighted by a building which is rapidly becoming derelict, a safety hazard and what could be the community hub that the villagers have been crying out for in recent years.
We just want a nice pub, for locals to allow us to walk down in an evening with our dog for a drink. Have a nice meal on the weekend and a place for the community to come together. A place for book clubs and DND clubs and such !
As having drank in The Cock Inn for 20 years and worked there for four years this pub is very important to me. It was always the hub of the village where people would meet, some amazing nights were had there. If I could’ve saved it myself, I would’ve done. It was a drinkers pub.
As District Councillor for Combe I fully support this petition to revitalise a valuable village asset .
Saving our pub has had a transformative effect on the village and really brought the community together. Please allow Combe the chance to save their pub for the benefit of the community.

My grandfather was for many years the landlord of this pub, it was also my home until the age of three. Its now so sad to see this valuable village asset empty and sinking into such a state of disrepair.
