It has been brought to our attention that the CSI/Forensic department at Gainsborough Police Station is rumoured to be on a short list to be closed.
This would mean for all the incidents/attacks/burglaries that unfortunately at the moment we seem to be getting so many of will more than likely now have to be investigated by the CSI team from Lincoln.
For anyone who has been a victim of one of these crimes they know it can already take a good length of time before these officers can come and take/record evidence and that wait can be a stressful time.
We constantly see complaints on the local items for sale groups about the local Police not doing enough to help protect the community, and although most of us understand that they are very busy people we do not think any of us can be in agreement that weakening our local Police Force further is good for the community.

I AM ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY BY THE AMOUNT OF ENERGY SURROUNDING THIS CAUSE RIGHT NOW!! THIS MOMENTUM IS COMPLETELY UNSTOPPABLE AND IT PROVES JUST HOW MUCH THIS COMMUNITY CARES ABOUT KEEPING OUR LOCAL FORENSICS TEAM EXACTLY WHERE IT BELONGS!!

with the upscaling of crime in the gainsborough area why would you think of closing down an important dept such as csi and forensic...
Gainsborough Police Station shouln't been reduced in any way. The town is supposed to being expanded in the next few years, more people need more services.
I no longer live in the area due to the fact my street was full of people that would try break into your house or they would be outside really late on a night throwing rock around or fighting,. sometimes the police would come in a few hours or the next day which is fair enough but sometimes these incidents are completely forgotten,. my family originate in gainsborough and used to feel safe living their, when they moved me and my sister into town. as the years went by i grew to love the town and hate some of the people in it giving such a lovely place a bad name. i believe gainsborough needs to keep the police on its doorstep and possibly even try growth rather than closure, i believe it will be in everybodies interest. i left because of the crime, i simply did not want my son growing up around that, however i dont blame the police or lack of because it simply is not their fault, if there werent so many criminals in the area they would be able to work efficiently. closure will not resolve gainsborough's ever growing crime rate.
Gainsborough is growing larger. We need more police not less
keep it open we need help to fight the scum who live amongst us
Gainsborough is a constantly growing town, you should be putting more policing into it, not removing services

There is already little police presence around Gainsborough especially in the evenings, closing this will just send out a message to all the criminals out there that they can do what they like because there will be no local police to answer the call. What a ludicrous idea. Leave us alone.
