Skyline College in San Bruno CA sits between Milagra Ridge and Sweeney Ridge - part of the Bay Ridge Trail and Nat'l Park Service's Golden Gate National Recreation Area. We strive to make Skyline College a certified wildlife habitat. But the 2/5 mile long road to Skyline College is under jurisdiction of the City of San Bruno, and the city's "APPROVED PLANT LIST" does not contain any native plants! We therefore petition city council to allow Colinas Costeras to ADOPT College Road, remove foreign invasives, and plant natives in the medians to support native bees & butterflies.

Highly supportive. I help propagate and do habitat restoration at Linda Mar Beach and Pedro Point Headlands using only locally native plants.
In a time when our pollinators are struggling, we should be limited to planting native flowering plants only.
So little is left for nature after we put houses everywhere they used to be, please do this. Thank you.
The simple act of selecting native plants for landscaping will benefit wildlife while reducing maintenance costs. Please support pollinators by planting with natives
Planting natives makes the most sense ecologically as well as economically since they're adapted to the environment and probably require less maintenance.
Removal of invasives and reintroduction of natives is essential to restoring our land, helping our native ecosystem, and improving our city‘s beauty.

Volunteering to monitor mission blue butterflies in their island on Milagra Ridge has shown me the need to connect to Sweeney Ridge for more biological diversity.
