Many Indigenous peoples, including those living on-reserve in Marten Falls, are living in a dangerously close proximity to high concentrations of soil contaminated with toxic waste like petroleum hydrocarbons. Although these contaminated sites are often dangerous to the health of humans, animals, surrounding ecosystems, and the environment overall, the government is not providing sufficient funding or resources for a cleanup. This petition is meant to show the government that the country cares about this issue and it needs to be fixed.
