Very concerned about the "covert ness" of this move. When I think about the McKessonintroduction to Clear Lske. Sure, we didn't know the exact business coming...but we had enough info and access to ask questions. It appears this has not been the case for this new business.
Please don't allow this facility to be built in Mason City!
How did this project get so far without citizens being informed?! Of course we want to be involved in this decision. Respect MC citizens and give us a chance to become informed to decide if this is the progress we want.
Mason City city council is always looking for opportunities to increase the town's growth potential, but when it comes to matters where a new business could have such strong and lasting impacts on the citizens it is a requirement that the council seek the feedback of the townsfolk before making any deals. Posting an inconspicuous sign or releasing a statement in such a way to "sneak" by the citizens doesn't cut it either.
Let's make sure it is the correct choice
They need to stay further away from town with the hog plant . The smell will not be that inviting for us here or to atract new businesses. People may take existing bussiness elsewhere. The smell will turn people away to live away.
This will devastate the area!

I am very worried about the possible environmental effects and decreasing property value of my home due to such a large corporate farming slaughter house coming to our area. Please let the people's voices be heard and concerns addressed.
