My name is Julie Solomon and I live in the West Towers. I find myself utilizing the Christiana Commons in order to get productive work and studying done during the day and mostly late at night. Since we are not provided with study rooms or lounges in our building like most dorms are, this is the only place that we have access to on north campus for us to go to do work. Our other alternative is our rooms, which I'm sure everyone can agree can prove to be distracting. I do not feel comfortable walking home from the library across campus at late hours of the night. With everyones heavy workload, having the Commons close at 1am has proved to be frustrating and with the reduced hours of it closing at midnight is very inconvenient. I feel that we pay plenty of money to attend UD, for them to be able to pay employees in order to keep the commons open for a few extra hours every night. If you feel the same way, please sign this "petition" to show that there is a significant student interest in having the Commons being opened later into the night for study purposes (especially around finals time!)

Seriously? We pay way too much tuition for this. I have a 30 page paper due and nowhere to sit quietly after midnight. fix this.

Finals week is gonna be a disaster if they keep the doors locked. please just keep the lights on for a few hours longer.

literally just let us stay in there. why do they care so much about kicking us out at 12? it makes no sense.

What the hell is this bullshit. I'm studying for a chemistry exam tomorrow that will determine if I pass the class, and two rooms are being used for meetings. The commons closes at 12, and the people in the room next to me are singing. the other people are practicing a dance or something. Is a quiet study room really all that much to ask for? I can not believe this is an issue considering the towers costs more. Do you really expect me to study in my room? ITS FRIDAY NIGHT, people are drinking, blasting music, and I can't study in my room anyway. Fuck the towers commons, I'm telling anyone who wants to live here next year that they should move off campus.

it makes no sense that the commons closes so early when finals are coming up. i dont want to walk across campus at 2am just to find a desk.

Living in the towers is a nightmare for studying. My roommate has people over every night and I literally have nowhere else to go. 12am is way too early to kick us out.
