By signing this petition, I agree to support the mission of Children's Safe Passage (CSP), a 501(c)(3) organization based in Jacksonville, Florida
Whereas, CSP was formed in in 2010 by concerned community members, in response to the heartbreaking tragedy that took place in 2009 when 7-year-old Somer Thompson was abducted and murdered at the hands of a sexual predator, and
Whereas, Diena Thompson, Somer's mother, launched the Somer Sunshine Scholarship in 2019 with Monique Burr Foundation for Children (MBF), and
Whereas, the mission of MBF is to provide access to evidence-based prevention education programs for children and teens to protect them from bullying, digital dangers, abuse and exploitation, and
Whereas, CSP raises money through its annual charity golf event and other fundraising activities to support organizations that focus on the prevention of childhood violence and sexual exploitation, like the Somer Sunshine Scholarship at MBF.
