Please support our efforts in ending sexual harassment/abuse by other students at Marvin Ridge Middle School. After a year of frustration and hardship for my daughter we felt compelled to fight back against this epidemic quietly happening in our school. We need to bring this topic to the forefront and have a serious discussion about what the effects of sexual harassment/bullying/abuse does to our children and families. Seeing this much support for our children is truly overwhelming and something I never could have imagined when I first started this. To the school admin: “Boys will be boys” is a problematic statement. Teach boys that’s their reputation is never as important as a girls safety. As school administration, or just basic human beings, you need to stand up for this girls right to feel comfortable while getting her education. SHAME on you for not knowing you need to do that.
If we don’t hold boys accountable, how can we expect them to grow into good men?
Because we should be supporting and empowering those who have been abused and not the abusers!
No one, female or male, should have to go through this. The adults in charge need to protect the children that are entrusted to them.
So many kids are being bullied because they are different or do not follow certain students at school. It is so sad when a child does not want to go to school because they are scared of being bullied or made fun of because they are different. Our schools need to be addressing this issue more. It is a big issue in our schools.
I do not condone the “boys will be boys” concept... Nope.....

This school needs a strict sexual harassment policy that is enforced. It's egregious that this is happening. So glad you are fighting the good fight!
