Final supporters
A few of us mums were often asking one another for advice on where to go with our little ones for a meal, somewhere with an indoor/outdoor play area.
Upon doing some research, one of our mummy friends posted her finds, which made the rest of us mummy's realise what a lack of family friendly pubs there are in our immediate area (Charlton/Blackheath).
We mummy's would like to suggest to the new owners of The Royal Standard - who we congratulate and wish all the best to - that they think about creating a children's play area, either indoors or outdoors.
With the Blackheath Library and the Invicta Children's Centre both being just around the corner from The Royal Standard, there are very often groups of mummy's in the area, who would love somewhere to go for a coffee or lunch after their activities.
One mummy says, "Daytime weekdays can be quiet but those of us with young children would run there for lunch if it had a little play area like, for example, the Plum Tree cafe".

The response to this proposal confirms that many families in our area share a desire for more accessible community spaces. This momentum demonstrates that our local public houses have an opportunity to better serve their neighborhood by becoming more family oriented. I appreciate the commitment shown by those who have engaged with this initiative.

Yes please! It is so hard to find anywhere local that isnt just a pub environment where kids have to sit still for an hour. Would be a great addition to the area.
PLZ do this!! I am at the library all the time with my toddler and we always end up going way further out just to find somewhere he can run around for 5 mins while I have a coffee. Would love to stay local instead.

Great idea. The Standard is a perfect spot for it.
