The district officially updated the dress code policy to reflect our proposed changes. This win belongs to every one of you who spoke up for a fair policy. Keep an eye on the student handbook to ensure these rules are followed in your classrooms.

Final supporters
The dress code changes being proposed are as followed:
-Any school appropriate pattern may be worn on any particle of clothing including dresses, pants, skirts/skorts, shorts and shirts.
-Any school appropriate shirt may be worn (i.e. v-necks, swoop necks)
-Shirts may be sleeveless, but must cover at least 3 fingers worth of the shoulder
-Dresses, pants, shorts, skirts/skorts must be as long as the tip of the longest finger
-Athletic wear such as Nike shorts, yoga pants/capris and appropriate sweat pants will be permitted
-Any type of shoe may be worn with the exception of house shoes/slippers

We are approaching one hundred signatures and need to hit that mark to force the administration to pay attention. Send the link to three friends who attend Alvin ISD right now. Post this to your Facebook page to help us gain momentum before the next school board meeting.

Way to take some initiative and show that someone cares. Hopefully this will get somewhere.
Uniform isn't education! Let students choose their style. If anything it encourages personality, creativity, originality, and uniqueness. One style does not fit all!
Yesterday I went up to the admin building and complained about V-necks. Everyone should just go to them directly. They think that everyone is going to wear in appropriate graphics on tees and that if a teacher thinks it's in appropriate and sends a student to the APs that the AP might let the kid off and it would cause tension between the staff. They also said that they wanted to keep a "business culture" in schools so it promotes college? Didn't make sense because colleges have free dress. Seriously hoping the 1500+ people changes something or I'm going to be in Eco a lot this year.

Thank you for opening up this petition because the dress code they passed for this year is basically the same as last year ...I'm just happy to know that there are people who don't like the fact that we can't wear open toes shoes with out a back and collared shirts ...on top of that they focus more on people being out of dress code than anything else I attend manvel there is so many people that are in Eco because of dress code I think it's ridiculous
