Final supporters
Western Students and other potential visitors to Western during our beloved homecoming weekend- please sign this petition so we can move hoco back to its original weekend. I hope this view is shared by many other students reading this but I for one will be partaking in any and all Western Homecoming activities no matter which weekend it is on. I think it is irresponsible of the University to deliberately schedule homecoming on a weekend that would- for most students- otherwise be spent in club Weldon. Please sign this petition so we can get homecoming moved back to a date that will allow us as students to experience the best school spirit in Canada without it taking away from our ability to succeed in school.

The university is ignoring our concerns but they cannot ignore the growing pressure from the student body. Email the Dean of Students today to demand they reschedule this event for a weekend that does not conflict with our academic success. Post this link on your Instagram story so we keep the momentum moving.

Best event to meet new people and make great friends before the weight of school comes crashing on us, CHANGE IT !!
I feel it would be a lot more stressful to schedule homecoming in the middle of midterms. I want to enjoy the events without sacrificing my academics.
Honestly, students will never NOT participate in HOCO - its a tradition. Putting it between Thanksgiving and Halloween will just give students less study time, that is much needed for exams. If you want less out of western students, continue putting limits on guests in res.
October is midterm season for many faculties including mine, it was irresponsible for the university to move HOCO.
So you're saying we must choose between having school spirit and doing well in school? Not impressed Western.

Let these students have their Homecoming! Changing the dates will change nothing. In fact it will give students more resolve to do what you are trying to prevent. Please re-think this decision!! From a concerned parent of a responsible Western student!
