Our Annual Homecoming SHOULD NOT be held on the weekend of February 14th (Valentines Day Weekend) at The University of Maryland Eastern Shore!!!!!!!!!
Fellow Hawks and Friends,
As we know in the past, the School has held Homecoming the weekend of February 14th (Valentine's Day). To some, this day is special and can have a great impact on relationships and marriages. This petition is to inform the School that we would like to have Homecoming fall the weekend after Valentines day. The thought is that there will be more support and participation from everyone who attends/attended The University of Maryland Eastern Shore. With more people returning to the school, there will be more opportunities to generate additional funding and to engage in more activities.
For those who are in agreement with these dates being finalized, please sign the petition and spread the word TO ALL HAWKS, Friends and Family members.

I have finalized a formal letter addressed to the administration to explain how a scheduling shift creates higher attendance potential. Next week I will deliver this document to the Office of Alumni Relations to initiate a direct discussion about the planning process.

The administration has acknowledged the volume of feedback regarding the Homecoming schedule. I am currently coordinating a meeting with the alumni relations department to formally present these timing concerns.

PLEASE MOVE IT. Hawk pride is real but nobody wants to be in the middle of a bad valentine date at a game.
Its hard enough to get folks to travel up here in the winter anyway without dealing with the holiday too. Change the date.
I believe the University would have more alumni to attend, besides the weather has proven to be terrible for the past several years during the weekend of the 13-14th.
I hope that many of you know that this year Homecoming is not on Valentines weekend but the weekend after
This will help generate more support and revenue for the institution and local community.

My husband refuses to come because he wants to do something for us that weekend. Need this fixed ASAP so we can both go.
