Over the years Watertown has come closer to changing this mascot. It is time to finally respect Native Americans rather than use them for sport mascots.

The feedback I have received from community members highlights a clear desire for this institutional change. I am currently coordinating with local representatives to ensure that our request is officially placed on the upcoming school board agenda.

The response to this campaign has developed a momentum that validates the urgent need for a change in our school mascot. It is encouraging to see our community align on the importance of respecting Native American heritage.

My kids go to school here and I hate seeing that on their gym clothes. Embarrassing.
its 2017 people. how is this still even a debate? move on to a new mascot already.
Just change the name to White Raiders. The new graphic could be a pioneer burning down a teepee with women and children inside. Maybe us a blunderbus instead of a tomahawk?
I believe, as a life time resident of watertown, that image is insulting and should not represent our town to others
Culture and sports do not go together. Something as trivial as a sport game CANNOT be integrated with any culture
