We understand that there were issues with prom venue dates, but we prefer as the students and parents of the Northview Academy 8th grade that the venue and prom go back to the original plans. This is what the students voted for and were excited about. We understand that the Sevierville Civic Center only had April 19th 2014 available and that this date is the day before Easter and also the first day of Spring break. For saftey reasons along with many other concerns including the weather we feel that the Civic Center is a better choice for the dance. The Point is not what the students nor parents are comfortable with. Please change the prom back to the original plans the students voted on. Please listen to how we feel and take that into consideration it is the 8th grade students dance and it should be the way they want it to be. And for the parents peace of mind a safe place within decent means of traveling distances ,at a indoor venue where the students do not have to enter a restaurant that serves alcohol to the public to use the restroom, and a venue away from hotels or tourists would be more suitable. The date may not be ideal, but for the safety of the students we prefer the dance to be held at the Sevierville Civic Center.
