PETITION BY FORM 5 STUDENTS OF SMKPBP1: REQUEST TO RETAIN HALL UNITAR AS THE ORIGINAL VENUE FOR THE F5 GRADUATION CEREMONY 2026To the Administration of SMKPBP1,
We, the Form 5 students of SMKPBP1 who have paid RM150 + RM100 PIBG per student for the F5 Graduation Ceremony 2026, wish to express our concerns and dissatisfaction regarding the decision to change the venue from Hall UNITAR to the school's open-air hall.
We understand that the haze situation has resulted in the postponement of the graduation ceremony to protect the health and safety of everyone involved. However, we would like to seek clarification as to why the venue also needs to be changed, as postponing the date and changing the venue are two separate matters.
The payment was made based on the original arrangements, and the graduation ceremony is a meaningful occasion that students, teachers and parents have been looking forward to. We believe that any significant changes to the original plan should be accompanied by a clear explanation and proper consideration of the views of all parties involved.
Therefore, we put forward the following two demands:
DEMAND 1: Retain Hall UNITAR as the original venue
We respectfully urge the school administration to reconsider its decision and retain Hall UNITAR as the venue for the F5 Graduation Ceremony 2026, provided that the circumstances and safety considerations permit. We hope the ceremony can be held in a more comfortable and suitable indoor environment, in line with the original arrangements communicated to students and parents.
DEMAND 2: Provide an official explanation for the venue change
If changing the venue is unavoidable, we request an official explanation of the reasons behind this decision, including the considerations taken into account after each student had paid RM150 + RM100 PIBG. We also hope that the views of students and parents will be heard openly and that any changes will be handled transparently and fairly.
We are not disputing the importance of prioritising health and safety during the haze situation. Rather, we believe that postponing the ceremony should not automatically result in a venue change without an appropriate explanation.
The graduation ceremony is an important milestone that marks the end of our secondary school journey. We sincerely hope that the school administration will listen to the voices of students and parents and give our requests careful and fair consideration.
We respectfully urge the school administration to retain Hall UNITAR as the original venue and, if a change is genuinely necessary, to provide a clear, transparent and reasonable explanation.
Thank you for your attention and consideration.
