This petition addresses the problem of only getting three absences before your exemptions are taken in the CFISD school district. Kids have been coming to school sick and putting school before their health. This is unhealthy for them and other students. The head of CFISD should consider making the policy more lenient for special excuses. For example, if someone has the flu for a week or if someone breaks their arm and has to be in the hospital. These types of situations should be excused from the absence rule. I understand that the absence rule is there because it motivates the kids to come to school, but it damages the learning environment for students. The district should find a different way to motivate kids to come to school and have exemptions based on the students grade not attendance.
