We, the residents of DRC 2 in Meridian Ranch, request that the tree requirement for our front yards be reduced by two due to the low rate of trees surviving multiple years, the costs associated with replacing dead trees (especially in light of current inflationary hardships), and to help save water in our community.

I have been hearing from so many of you about the constant struggle and expense of replacing trees that simply will not survive in our soil. Post this link on your neighborhood Facebook group today so we can get this requirement changed. Email your local representatives now to let them know we need relief from these costs.

The momentum we have built proves our neighbors are tired of replacing dead trees and wasting water. Contact our local board representatives today to demand this policy change. Post this link on your neighborhood Facebook page to ensure they see how serious we are.

The land required for trees to grow successfully is larger than the size of some of our front yards. The trees are competing for resources and many don’t thrive.
Considering Colorado remains in a state of drought, to minimize trees, and shrubs collectively will reduce the amount of water usage. Due to the lack of nutrient rich soil, tree growth is difficult for many residents and are being required to constantly replace dead trees. The water use for trees to establish become considerably higher as well for the first year or two.
I fully support this, there or more then just the number of trees that are issues, the placement of trees the type of trees and size of the yard. Some yards are forcing the resident to plant on top of water lines and more.
This area is not conducive for growing trees; I’m in favor of any drop in the required 3 trees.
Many if the yards are too small for three trees. If the trees ever reach full maturity the yards will be overcrowded
Falcon is not a tree friendly location
Also, the amount of shrubs is silly.

We are getting ready to replace 2 of ours that we're dead before we bought the house.
