I petition the City of Raleigh, NC to keep and maintain section 9.1.9 of the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) requiring forestation of 40% of land in the City's watersheds for lots greater than two acres. I oppose efforts to weaken or eliminate these protections for all of Raleigh's watersheds including the Falls Lake watershed, the Urban watershed, and the Swift Creek watershed.
We are approaching one hundred signatures which is the minimum threshold required to trigger an official review by the planning department. Please direct this link to anyone who owns property within the Falls Lake or Swift Creek watersheds today. Securing this milestone ensures our request is formally added to the upcoming committee agenda.

Water is precious and vulnerable. Protecting clean water is essential to the growing populace of Wake county- no clean water - no growth. Stop letting developers run over our environmental protections and protect our water sources.

I want clean water maintained. Once we lose this watershed protection, there is no going back.
