Oswego County Mission Statement
"Oswego County government is committed to visionary leadership that will enhance the quality of life for its people and businesses. Leadership shall promote open communication and accountability between government and residents, effective and affordable services, an environment conducive to economic development, and the effective use and conservation of natural, financial, and human resources."
In the interest of the people you represent and due to our work schedules, generally 9 to 5, we would like the county of Oswego Legislators meetings changed to evenings so that more of the general public will be able to attend and participate in those meetings. We would like all of 2022 and all future meetings to be scheduled for the evenings.
Also, another consideration would be access to a live meeting via Zoom or another platform which would give the opportunity to be heard and for you to present information for those that could not attend physically.
We would also like any proposals presented be given time for the public to study and offer comments before passing of any resolutions.
The meeting for December 9, 2021's agenda was not posted until December 6 which does not give time for the residence to properly evaluate.

The steady growth of this petition reflects a clear desire from the public to participate in local government. It is encouraging to see such broad agreement that our legislators must prioritize accessibility for working residents.

Meetings need to be held in the evening so the public can attend after their workday. The public WANT to show up and speak up to make sure politicians are held accountable and made aware of things that actually matter. Thank you.
We have a government by the people and for the people. The more we include the public in the decision making process the better off will be all those who live in Oswego County.
Meetings times could be as early as 4pm and more people would be able to attend, or have alternative times every other meeting day. The local government meetings should be more accessible to their constituents so they can share their voices.
Please schedule public meetings in the evenings (say 7pm ish) where more constituents can attend. Thank you.
People should be able to attend these meetings. Holding them during the day, makes it extremely hard for the people who have questions to attend.
Yes change meetings to evening.
I do feel any normal adult should have the power over another to force the medical or political views on anyone and they should not have the power to punish them. I pray the votes are “NO” for forced vaccine mandates, no to taking away religious or medical exemptions, no to vaccine mandates to attend school, No, to punishing those who are not vaccinated, by refusing to cover them with health insurance, and DEFINITELY NO to being arrested if the Governor thinks we are a health threat, without trial! What has become of the United States of America and it citizen’s rights!!
