We, the undersigned, ask that the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District Board not cut the position of campus webmaster at Chabot College. Consider the following points:
In an increasingly "digital" world an institution of Chabot’s size and reputation requires a significant and growing online presence in order to serve our students, staff, faculty and the wider community;
in addition, our current webmaster Abdullah Yahya has done an exemplary job not only in creating our new website but also in contributing to a myriad of other online projects benefitting our campus;
finally, the Webmaster positions for our District and at our sister campus Las Positas College are not being eliminated.
Therefore, we again ask the Board not to eliminate the position of Webmaster at Chabot College.
The steady growth of this petition highlights how deeply our community values the vital role of the college webmaster. Seeing this collective recognition of the position's necessity reaffirms why we started this effort.

Why cut this? It makes zero sense to single out Chabot when the other campuses are keeping theirs.

This is ridiculous. The website is one of the most important tools we have. Keep him on staff!
