City of Greater Sudbury Councillor Terry Kett and M.P. Glenn Thibeault have decided to start this petition to call on the federal government to transfer the jurisdiction over cell phone tower location to the municipal level.
Canadians are frustrated with the lack of accountability of the federal government in regards to the approval process for cell phone towers.
With municipal control over the location of cell towers, Canadian residents who live near a proposed tower could object to its location directly to their municipal council and have the final decision made locally.
Please sign the petition below to ask the Government of Canada to transfer the power over the location of cell phone towers to municipalities and get local control over this key concern.
