They actually listened and the no detriment policy is coming back along with the grace period too. I am honestly still in shock that this worked but I am so incredibly relieved for everyone who felt like they were drowning this term. We should definitely keep an eye on things …

With the start of this new lockdown it has been made abundantly clear that’s students at cccu do not feel like the are supported. We would like to reintroduce the no determent policy and the grace period. Reintroducing both these policies would be the least the university could do to help support its students.

I checked the screen and we are just hovering under five hundred signatures which is honestly wild because I really thought this would just be a tiny thing for my roommates and yet here we are. If we can just tip this over the top before the next meeting it would be so much harder for the board to just ignore us like they usually do. Honestly keep posting this everywhere because my laptop is about to die and I just need to see that number jump up right now.

The university are offering no support, we are given online lessons with no interaction and so many technical issues. We have to wait 3-5 days to have a email from lectures but our work has to be produced at high quality with no leniency

We as students have had no support, limited contact time with lectures even if that is 1:1 online, biggest worry for me is grading our work everything else has changed including the way we are taught yet there is no safety net when it comes to our grades, i think this should be taken into account when everything else has changed

I’ve been at uni for 4 month now I’ve had 1 face to face session... I’ve dyslexia so need extra support I’ve had none, I’m just expected to learn like everybody else which I can’t, my brain doesn’t allow me to do it... I don’t know how I’ll pass this courses I really don’t.

I am literally at breaking point....the to point where I am going to have to leave my degree. I simply am struggling to home school 3 children, 2 teenagers and a 5 yr old. Deadlines looming, and just absolutely stuck in a rut. Staff are overwhelmed and taking ages to reply.

The lack of support has led to extreme stress and anxiety in most Students, affecting out ability to meet deadlines and create work of a high standard. As a 3rd year student this is especially detrimental to our future prospects.

There is not enough support for students during the pandemic. Many students are being left to self-teach from barely annotated powerpoints which I don’t feel is appropriate at this level of education. We are paying thousands of pounds in tuition fees and absolutely not getting what we are paying for

With a daughter at uni I find this unacceptable

Starting to think the issues are less to do with pandemic and more to do with CCCUs lack of ability to support students.
