My aim is to be able to place a catering trailer into the car park at Togg Hill on the A420 just outside Wick. At the moment I have the backing of my Cllr Sarah Tulley, the backing of Steve Webb MP, the backing of the local Boyd Valley Police Beat Officer, I have the backing of the departments within the South Gloucestershire Council, I have the backing of the people who live at Togg Hill. So why do I need your help The person who has the power to grant me planning has refused because: (1) "The existing enterance to the car park does not comply with current design standards". (2) "The nearbby junction at Gore Lane with the A420 is a problem because it has had accidents" (3) "I may increase the number of cars pulling into the car park" (4) " HGV's may be enticed to turn off the A420 to see if they can pull into the car park" the enterance has a 6' 6" low bar preventing high vehicles from entering. The car park at Togg Hill has a serious reputation as being one of the areas notorius places for "dogging" during the evening however what is happening during th eevening is now beginnig to expand into the daylight hours. This in turn is stopping everyday people with families from using the picnic area. It is hoped that by allowing me to place a catering trailer into the car park I can help stop this from happening. For those of you that don't know Togg Hill Picnic Area is a Site of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is also a Site of Scenic and Scientific Interest. In 577 AD it became a Battle Site for the Kings of England. This picnic area has to be saved, by letting in the minority who use it as a sex area we are preventing those who would like to use it as a picnic area. What happens within the picnic area after daylight will always happen it has been for the past 20 years I am not going to or do I want to stop this from happening however when it stops me from allowing my children to play there during the day then this surly has to be stopped. Hence this petition with your help I may be able to change the mind of the Highways Officer who is preventing me from setting up there, after all who's ever heard of a picnic area where you can't purchase a cup of tea Many thanks for your help.
