This petition is in support of CARE (Center for Animal Rescue and Education). We are seeking the towns approval to host a yard sale at a centralized location in the town of Wilmington. The event will take place on August 1st from 9am-1pm at a location not yet determined. 100% of sales will go directly to the rescue to continue their efforts to save animals from all types of potentially dangerous situations (owner surrender, Craigslist ads,hoarding, breeding, strays etc.).Although the rescue is based out of Acushnet they are helping dogs all over the state. Typically, the dogs they take in have not been fixed or even seen by a vet. They require a lot of time and socializing before they can be placed with a new family. All of these needs can be very costly and the rescue works on donations alone. Please help us support CARE, it's volunteers and most importantly, the animals. Hopefully we will be granted permission and see you at the event !
