BY THE CITIZENS AND THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES AND NEIGHBORHOODS OF THE ORMOND BEACH MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, TO ENSURE NO INCREASED NOISE, HEALTH, SAFETY, TRAFFIC IMPACTS AND MORE TREES DESTROYED BY THE AIRPORT.

PETITION TO DENY APPROVAL AND FUNDING FOR THE 600 FT RUNWAY EXTENSION TO WEST. Also the future 400 ft extension to the east. The signers of this document do hereby petition the City Council Members, County Board of Supervisors, State Congressional Representatives, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), that the Principals be safeguarded.

Citizens opposed the 2004 North South Runway Extension and public pressure stopped it. This time they kept it in the dark. When found out they say it is all for safety, nothing is changing. When find they want to bring in larger aircraft and more corporate jets to become an Executive airport, they say we are not bringing in commercial airliners. Let's hope not! It will be corporate aircraft between 12,500lbs and 60,000 lbs. Two or Three planes based there are 12,500 to 12,900lbs. The majority are 3,500 lbs or less with a maximum takeoff weight of 4750 lbs which only needs approximately 3200 ft runway when there is already 4004 ft there. If it was for safety and the airport had not been safe, why didn't the FAA shut them down. If it is for safety, WHY would they attempt to put the CRASH zone on 3 property owner's property. Reports stated, "the 3 property owners' were approached and are amenable to easements" when that was NOT TRUE. Never knew anything about an easement till almost a year later. Also stated, "if we get these easements we have hit a home run."

Daytona and Flagler airports are within 8 to 9 nautical miles. Noise threatens homeowner property value. We do not need the higher potential for crashes, jet fuel dumps or more lead and jet emissions.

Please, once this is done, there is not going back. If you have already signed, please do not sign again. Thank you.

We just hit two hundred and fifty signatures and I am overwhelmed by the support for our neighborhood. My backyard is right in the path of these proposed jets and knowing I am not fighting this alone gives me so much hope.

One hundred signatures arrived today and I am honestly floored by the support from my neighbors. Living right under this flight path makes me worry about our future every single day but knowing you are behind me brings real peace of mind.

We have lived in Bear Creek for six years and the airport noise has increased tremendously. Can’t imagine how noisy it will be with larger jets landing. Why should 600 residents be inconvenienced because a few wealthy citizens want to use our airport. We say no to the expansion!

I have lived in Bear Creek nearly 4 yrs. The air traffic over my house has increased and causes my cell phone and wifi to freeze up as I hear them flying overhead. More will be unbearable and decrease value of my home. We appreciate the nature and quaint peaceful character of Ormond Beach. Less air traffic and more golf is what we want.

I saw how the neighborhoods around Melbourne FL airport were affected The thought of jobs being brought to the area was seed like a plus, now they will test engines at full throttle for an hour at a time at 10:00 pm. Not good for the people in a two mile radios if you need sleep for work the next day.

We don’t need any potential disasters for the convenience of a few spoiled ultra rich who don’t want to be bothered to land their jets at an underutilized Daytona Beach international airport just a few miles south of Ormond airport. Also the DAB is much better equipped and prepared for any potential disaster.

The airport is a losing financial operation why put more $$ into something that is financial sound and affects the homeowners surrounding the airport quality of life.

Stop pushing benefits for the few over the wishes of the largest portion of your constituents. We don't want this and don't benefit from it.
