For several years, the Carbon County Fairgrounds has only had one building that consists of restrooms for men and women. The up keeping of this building has only taken place only once in the several years it’s existed. All of the equipment located in the building is outdated and is in need of new repairs. Each year multiple events are held throughout this location for example the USRA, the Wild West Racing Circuit , the  Demolition derby,  the USWRCA, the local  4-H club, Carbon County Fair and Rodeo and also multiple barrel racing associations.  This is only some of the events which consist between 100 to 5,000 people or more each year. This single building only allows so many people to use the bathroom at a time, causing line build up and frustration between locals and travelers.  This petition is to install several new restrooms with showers that will be serving the entire fairgrounds facility. Each new restroom will be located at the motocross track/ice skating rink, grand stand area, park, and south end of the arena. These are the main areas of the facility, which are very busy, at some points serving over 2,000 people.  We would also like to petition to get numerous RV hookups around the fairgrounds facility along with a new set of restroom facilities complete with showers.

Updates

August 17, 2010

I have been reviewing the feedback from those who attend our local events and the frustration regarding the current facilities is clear. My focus remains on presenting these concerns to the county officials to ensure they understand the necessity of this infrastructure upgrade for our visitors and community members.

August 17, 2010

The momentum behind this proposal has grown significantly in recent weeks. It is clear that the community recognizes the urgent necessity for upgraded infrastructure at our fairgrounds. These signatures serve as a compelling testament to the widespread desire for improved facilities.

Fix the bathrooms. It is impossible to get through the line when there are 5000 people there.

My family travels for the barrel races and the fairgrounds facilities are honestly embarrassing. Please update them.
