Just like others out there, I was not fortunate enough to have any children of my own but have always had a pet. My current dog Capone has been my child for the past 8 years. He has a lot of allergies as well as a special diet. With all of my dogs, I have had a monthly pet insurance and have been up to date with what is necessary as a pet owner. I feel as though there should be some tax relief but I also believe this should not be taken advantage of. One must be able to provide proof of current pet license, pet insurance with current vaccinations and maybe even a 2 pet per household limit. We all have made jokes about why can't I claim my pet on my taxes, it's time to make it real. Thanks for your support!
