The purpose of this petition is to provide Grady students with the option to wear cap and gown at Grady convocation on May 12, 2016. For many years students have dressed formal for convocation, but seeing as the event individually recognizes students for their achievements in front of family and friends, wearing cap and gown is appropriate for this momentous occasion. I really did not think this would gain this much steam but here we are and it is honestly wild to see how many people actually want to wear caps and gowns for this. It feels like the administration might finally have to pay attention to us since so many students are on board now.

PLEASE let us wear them!! This is the only time our names are called its so important to us and our parents!!!
Cap and Gown should be worn so people's families can enjoy seeing their graduate in full gear.
A graduation is a monumental achievement. A cap and gown is something I work extremely hard to earn the right to wear. I deserve to celebrate my special day and achievement with my family while wearing a cap and gown. I can wear business formal any day.
I'm down if it's an option, not one or the other. I don't want to wear my gown to Grady convo but I'm about it if others that do want to get the chance.
I don't graduate this semester but I would like to be able to wear cap & gown in the future when I do.
Why hasn't this been changed before? This is the time I really want to wear my cap and gown!

I didn't realize this was a thing, and it would disappoint my mom so much if it stayed that way.
