We, the graduating year 12 students, are asking to be allowed to wear appropriate formal or semi-formal attire of our choice to graduation instead of school uniforms.
As graduation is a major milestone it should allow us to express ourselves and represent who we are as individuals. In previous years students were allowed to choose their outfits for the ceremony in which everyone looked lovely and appropriately dressed, proving students can be trusted to dress for the occasion.
By signing this petition, you are showing your support for the graduating year 12 cohort being allowed to wear appropriate attire of their choice to graduation which is something we are all very passionate about.

This cohort started in COVID, didn’t get any school camps, missed out on other events, have proven themselves responsible organising 2 formals where everyone dressed appropriately. Dully is an arts school, full of amazing, expressive, creative kids. How about letting them celebrate in all their finery as a nod to the importance & magnitude of this milestone & all their achievements. There’s two parents here wholeheartedly supporting this initiative in adding to the occasion with dressing well!
We all know how to dress for a formal event. No one was dressed silly at any of our student run formals and just because our uniform might not be perfect we are still capable of dressing appropriately for our graduation which everyone takes seriously and feels is important.
Students should be able to celebrate in style and have the chance to dress up on the last occasion of their whole time at school. Uniforms are worn everyday - this is not just another day at school.

School uniform is not appropriate attire for such a big event. It makes the major milestone feel less important and like just another school day.
