Many high schools across the country and within the Los Angeles Unified School District allow their graduating seniors to decorate their cap for the ceremony. This helps express individuality and a chance for seniors to express their creativity and voice one last time within their peers. This petition calls for the administration of John Marshall High School to discuss the possibilities of the graduating seniors of the class of 2020 to wear their stole and decorate their cap as they walk the stage at the Greek Theatre to celebrate their acomplishments.

im still pushing the administration to sit down and talk about this because our caps represent so much more than just a dress code. thank you for sending me your ideas for what you want to put on your own caps since honestly seeing those designs makes me even more determined to get us a yes.

i honestly cant believe how much momentum this has picked up lately. seeing so many people getting behind this really makes me feel like we have a genuine shot at finally making this happen for our class.

I want to express my creativity on the cap and show my achievements with the stoles
this gives us a chance to express our last creative moment of high school. It gives you a chance to express yourself in many ways that maybe you couldn’t while we were in school. This will give you an opportunity to let people see the real you and what you’ve accomplished to get this far.
easier for parents to find their kid. better than everybody looking the same with a plain cap
We should be free to decorate our caps we bought them after all and to wear our stoles we earned them. The school needs el be fair.
I believe that students should be able to display their achievements on the one day of their high school experience where they are SUPPOSED to be celebrating their successes. Students worked HARD to get their stoles and deserve to wear them as to not undermine their work ethic
Students should be able to show off their academic achievements especially this one time so I feel as if we should be able to wear them.

I brought this up with student Congress and it went completely ignored, I’m glad we aren’t being silent about this and making our voices known
