The Town of Evans finally stopped dragging their feet and approved the permits for the new cabins. This victory belongs to the 158 of you who refused to let them block our Wounded Warriors and seniors from these facilities. We fought the bureaucracy and we won.

Pioneer Camp & Retreat Center, located on the shores of Lake Erie in Angola, New York, is regionally and nationally known and respected for the programs they provide to the community. The programs include The S.T.A.R. Families Camp, a survivor camp for military families, Operation Purple Camp for military families in the deployment cycle, and Military Families Week for active, Reserve, Guard, and veteran families. Numerous programs are also provided for the youth of our region and the Golden Agers, with scheduled camps for the developmentally disabled. We, the undersigned, therefore support and request the Town of Evans Town board, Planning board, and Zoning Board issue any and all permits and variances necessary for Pioneer Camp Retreat Center to construct new cabins, thus enabling equal opportunity for Wounded Warriors, seniors, and other handicapped individuals who wish the use of these temporary use dwellings. These changes will further enable Pioneer Camp to be a resource to our community, and allow the continuance of a Ministry with a history that extends over 70 years in Angola-on-the-lake.

The Town of Evans boards are stalling while our Wounded Warriors and seniors wait for basic accessibility. It is pathetic that they refuse to cut the red tape for a ministry that has served this community for decades.

Please issue everything needed. Community support of Pioneer should be considered also.
The Kuhlenschmidt family has been attending Camp Pioneer since it began in 1945. It is an excellent vacation for the whole family. We look forward our trip every year.
This is something worth petitioning for and I pray that the Town of Evans approves any and all permits necessary to construct new cabins.
This camp has blessed our family SO MUCH since we discovered them a few years ago. They help so many every year. It would be a terrible shame if the town board does not allow them to provide equal opportunity for Wounded Warriors, seniors and other handicapped individuals to be blessed by their ministry.
This camp provides a respite from the worries of daily life for me and my daughter while challenging us as individuals and as a family unit.
Hope that this is an acceptable venue and appeal. Can't see where Evans would have any problems...
