Camp Champion Waterfront Beer Lodge is Champion Brewing Company's newest concept and an effort to create a unique tasting room experience in a bucolic setting that will serve as an inviting and welcoming location for people to experience the perfect pairing of Champion beers and the natural beauty of Albemarle County.

Camp Champion's proposed location is set upon a peninsula, on the Rivanna Reservoir, in a building that has sat vacant for over two years. This unique space will be repurposed to create a fantastic environmentally friendly space while respecting the history of both the building and the area. Camp Champion will include:

  • Small scale brewing system for the creation of collaborative beers that will be offered as fundraising opportunities to local groups and non-profits
  • An agricultural component designed to allow us to integrate native plants and on site grown fruits & herbs into our beers
  • A family friendly environment
  • Food truck offerings

Camp Champion will be the Northern Albemarle's first farm brewery and offer an exciting destination to a large segment of Albemarle County that has been ignored. We aim to become a location that fills a hole and becomes a local favorite.

We, the signees of this petition, are signing in support of Champion Brewing Company's efforts to open Camp Champion in the proposed waterfront location at 2001 Earlysville Road.

I started this because I really wanted to see this space brought back to life and I never imagined so many other people felt the same way. Behind the scenes we are busy preparing our next steps for the planning committee. It is all of you who are making this possible.

I am honestly a bit overwhelmed by how many people want to see this space come back to life. This momentum is entirely because of your belief in the vision for Earlysville and not anything I did alone.

I am an Albemarle County resident and very much look forward to enjoying the reservoir ambiance at Camp Champion. There’s nowhere else to do that since only private landowners have access to the waterfront.

I fully support this idea of repurposing a vacant building to a family friendly business. Champion has shown to Cville that it is a successful business that also gives back to the community. Let's encourage business ideas that we know work and make Northern Albemarle an even better place to live.

I live 1 1/2 blocks from Champions’ taproom. They are an asset to this community, model citizens. I’ve never been bothered by noise or rowdy customers, no drunk drivers that I’ve ever seen. I would be surprised if property values near Camp Champion didn’t increase because of its presence.

Kayak in/Kayak out. family friendly place to hang out? YES PLEASE! I am also happy to share the roads I drive on daily with this business. Just because beer will be served does not automatically equal impaired driving. Welcome to the neighborhood, Camp Champion!

I live within a mile or so of the site and STRONGLY support Camp Champion. It will be wonderful to have a nearby place to go with family and friends. The traffic pattern/ changes will be better than it was when the Church was there.

There is already a larger scale farm/winery attraction...I think Champion would be an awesome (and much smaller) compliment to Earlysville that I think the residents of the town would gain an appreciation once they see it in motion :)

This project would greatly benefit Earlysville & Albemarle County. This is an outstanding team of caring and responsible locals who want to improve our town even more. As a native of Albemarle, with family ties to Earlysville, it has my full support!!
