I spent the afternoon at the park watching kids get kicked off the concrete again and it reminded me why this needs to happen. I am currently working on a proposal to present to the town council so they stop pretending the basketball courts are the only use for our public space.

Seeing this much energy behind the park makes me realize I am not fighting this alone. It feels incredible to know so many of you want a safe place for us to skate without being harassed.

We need this for our town. Fernandina is nice but it's farish away and Hilliard is alright but it's just eh.
I would love to see the town use Ewing Park for a skate park. There is more than enough room at this location. I believe that a skate park will draw extra business in as well when you think about it. If parents are dropping their kids off in the town they live in then the money that is spent on food and drinks stays in the town he lping big and small business alike. If the kids are taken out of the town to skate other parks then so is the money. It is a win win for the town when you think about.
Callahan needs a skatepark. The town complains about where they skate now so why not give them an area to skate!! The skaters deserve it just like any other sport!!
We need this to keep our kids doing productive things and not sitting in front of the computer.
Our kids skate around town in unsafe places or where they are not wanted . Building this Skate park will be a safe place for our kids to go and will make merchant happy as they will no longer have to put up with the skaters around there business . It also get kids out and off the couch!

Give these kids a safe place to skate where they can dream and bring those dreams to fruition!
