Right, I'm not sure if this really pisses off anyone else but that fence that Mr Stockwood/Mr Holt has put up to block the alley, that for years has been a public right of way, linking buttermarket to plough hill down the side of his house is surely a breach of planning? All my life I have been able to walk down there until recently, and as far as i am aware has been a right of way for 100s of years! The council have painted 'keep clear' lines at the top, installed a safety rail at the bottom and not so long ago tarmacked the alley (i think!?), just for Mr Stockwood and his Neighbour to claim the land. Does this mean I can begin to claim random pieces of land around the town because if so, I call dibs on Top Park and I am also going to help myself to some of the lovely new paving in the Market Place to finish off the end of the drive. If you agree with me that the railings need to be removed and the alley opened back up please join this group. If there are a good few people backing this a formal complaint will be sent to West Lindsay for a breach of planning and the removal of the railings. Thanks for your time. Please sign the petition!

He cant just decide he owns the place because he feels like it. It keeps the town walkable and thats always how its been.

Absolute joke. I grew up using that shortcut. If the council put down the tarmac and the safety rail then it definitely belongs to the public. Take it down.
