The department reviewed our concerns and confirmed they will apply a grade adjustment for the BUSS 200 final exam. Thank you for providing the specific feedback that allowed us to present a formal case to the administration. We will monitor the implementation of these new grading standards over the coming …
This petition aims at addressing the point that the BUSS 200 final exam for Fall 2015 was hard and very long. Based on students' feedback, the exam was very challenging. In addition , the grading criteria for previous quizzes was unclear and unfair . The exam atmosphere was not pleasant for a final exam , as instructors and graduate assistants were talking constantly.
The volume of support has reached a level that requires a formal response from the department administration. I am currently drafting a letter to the Dean outlining our specific grievances regarding the exam environment and grading transparency.

We shouldn't forget that we have been told that there are no ommissions and that we should study all chapters. I was counting on chapters 12 and 15 to get a good grade, instead the chapter 13 was nearly all what the exam was about. Should we fail because we failed 1 chapter without being tested on 2 very important statistics concepts?
Personally I felt like the test was set on the hardest material instead of the whole course, they should either omit the material we are not being tested on or test us on all chapters equally, or at least give us an idea of the exam by posting a previous on Moodle.

Extremely long exam. I had to rotate back and forth between different exercises and decide which questions to leave behind.... It was very challenging to solve under specific time constraints, and due to that I ended up solving everything half way only, without giving much thought to what I was writing.

I gave this course my maximum and studied so hard for it. Now I am worried I don't graduate as it is a prerequisite for my other courses in spring. It was very challenging and time was not enough.

Quiz 1 and 2 were much more to the appropriate level than the final: I think the final tested our functioning under stress and endurance rather than our knowledge of the material.

I would like to point out that the last sentence of the petition wasn't necessary. As we all know Dr Lama is responsible of this course, and she was doing her job professionally. It's not her problem if someone else was ruining the atmosphere. So i recommend that the sentence is taken off because we don't want to hurt anyone. We just want our right to be met

The exam was super hard. Nothing like what we solved in class and nothing like the homework. The exam needed a lot more time and some students were given a different formula sheet than the others! I think it was not fair at all and very hard. It shouldnt be that hard if you want us to pass or atleast solve something similar in class!
