Its definitely unfair. Put urself in our shoes if u have babies born in Jan 2016- 23 March 2016. 2015 babies receives many freebies n perks. 24 March onwards receive 3k. So why left out the few mths in between? Thinking of it its really ridiculous the same year baby yet cant receive the same benefit.
I've a Jan baby and she is my 4th baby. We have already miss out on the $600 top up for SG50 babies & now we are been penalised for giving birth before 24th Mar?! $3k is a considerable sum for us. Please back date.
My boy lose out on the sg50 $600 CDA top up and now this $3000 too. Aint those born from Jan - 23Mar singapore babies too? Why must they be penalised by the budget speech which is on 24 Mar? If so next time can u just arrange your budget speech to 1 Jan so that there wont be this kind of unfairness again.
Just my 4th child on 1 Feb. A $3000 start up CDA grant makes a whole lot of difference to us for healthcare expenses and preschool expenses in the later years. And especially so when we are a single income family who may take a long while to deposit that amount of money into the account.
I just delivered my 2nd child on 18 March 2016 and would like to benefit from this new grant. I have forked out $7k on hospital bills due to emergency c sec delivery of my child and with this grant in place, it will definitely offset my child's future medical health and infant care bills.
Please bring forward to baby born in Jan 2016.
It's fair to offer this to all babies born from 2016 onwards since government is implementing it for the babies anyway. Please reconsider it.

This is totally unfair. How can a policy be set based on the announcement date instead of the start of a financial year? Does it also mean that we should time our baby according to the Budget announcement date too? Can we please have this policy relooked to apply to babies born since first Jan 2016
