My name is Jennifer Torney, and I have been a member at Lifetime Fitness in Algonquin for the past 4 years. From the moment I joined the club, there has always been a fantastic energy, from not only the members but the trainers, sales team, and the staff. If you ask anyone, most would attribute that to the General Manager, Ray Haizlip, which is no mistake as the culture is always set at the top. He always knew everyone by name, and took the time to constantly walk the gym floor, saying hello with a big genuine grin and handshake. Most people would notice his positive energy, but many would also notice him checking out equipment to make sure everything was in working order, paying attention to every detail, ensuring the floor was immaculate and there was nothing out of place. His commitment to our beautiful gym was not only acknowledged, but deeply appreciated by every member that I’ve spoken with.
As of last week, from what I understand, his employment has been terminated. This news has circulated throughout the club and I speak on behalf of a majority of the members who have had the privilege of getting to know Ray, we were all devastated. While I have not been a member at Lifetime prior to Ray’s tenure, I know that many will attest that the gym was nothing like it is today before Ray took over. Equipment was constantly in disrepair, and the environment was nowhere near as positive and charged with the upbeat vibe that it holds today. I realize that there were circumstances which precipitated this, but we are calling upon you to reconsider and allow Ray a second chance.
On behalf of the members at Lifetime Fitness in Algonquin, we sincerely appreciate your consideration for this very important appeal. We truly believe that Ray is uniquely suited for the General Manager role and could not imagine anyone else filling his shoes.

The feedback from fellow members continues to pour in and confirms that Ray Haizlip was instrumental in building the environment we all value at this gym. I am currently reaching out to regional leadership to ensure these sentiments are formally acknowledged. Your personal stories regarding his leadership remain the most effective tool we have in this process.

I love ray and always see him doing various jobs at lifetime - picking up in the parking lot, folding towels, etc. I often teased him that next, he'd be doing hair and manicures in the salon. There will be no one else like him. He should come back. Everyone misses him. He was the best.
This gym's atmosphere has changed in the last year. Losing so much talent, and now Ray. His absence has been a huge loss for its members who appreciated his positivity, hardwork, and commitment. No matter where Ray continues his career, may his impact continue...he clearly loved what he did!
I've never seen a manager walk around and pick up garbage. The man is willing to do the dirty work to make sure his members are happy. He treats my kids like they're family. This is really disturbing he's gone. Corporate made a HUGE mistake.
Ray is a perfect person for this job. No one else could do a better job than him. He knew all his employees by name as well as my children. He knew all his members by name and if there was a way he could work with you on whatever u needed he would do the best that he can. He is the best!!! Bring Ray back!!!
Couldn't have said it any better myself. Read your mission statement again LTF. Ray was executing that more visibly than any other manager I have seen during my 11+ years as a member. #LTFReadItAgain
Ray is my nephew. He has had the strength and attitude to overcome much adversity; starting from childhood. As so many of you have noted, he has not only a tremendous asset to organizations, but also to so many people. Please give Ray a second chance. I know Ray has given second chances to many in his life. God Bless you all.
Ray was the best even in Summerlin Las Vegas.. I'll tell you the GM we have not is horrible

Member since day one. No GM has ever come close to the dedicated quality Ray brought to the position. He's a natural and an asset to the club. Get Ray back before another club grabs him and members resign to follow him.
