From the week beginning November 11 2019, the Turriff minor injury unit changed from 24/7 support 7 days a week to 08:00am to 18:00pm support 7 days a week. A lot of people in and around the Turriff area feel safer knowing they have a place to go on their doorstep when seriously unwell during or out of hours. With these cuts, no promise of shorted ambulance waiting times and people who can't travel 35 miles to the nearest hospital, this is a serious cause of alarm for a lot of people.
These changes were made by Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership. They claimed to have held two public events, the first 197 people attended and the second 78. They claim to also conducted an online survey to gather public opinion, they had a total of 978 response to that.
If you think these changes were made very quietly without giving the whole community a proper opportunity to express our opinions before any of these changes were implemented. Then please please sign, comment and share this petition. Together, we can make a strong case and take this forward to the Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership and hopefully bring this vital service back to the community of Turriff.

The momentum behind our request to restore 24/7 care to Turriff is growing steadily. This response confirms that our community refuses to accept the current limitations on our access to essential medical services.

It would take the pressure off calls to 999 if the public knew that there was a Minor Injuries Unit in the vicinity who could help with their problem. This would free up an ambulance for people with more serious problems, e.g. heart attacks etc. I speak from experience
My son was turned away at the door with blood streaming down his face last week had to get app at Huntly hospital to get 11 stitches in a head wound bluddy ridiculous. no one in Turriff Hosp to do this work .
As the winter is here, and the access to Aberdeen hospital may be obstructed by snow or ice on the roads, the unit should work as 24/7! What if is an emergency with a infant or an eldery person and the ambulance can't make it on time?
I think the population of Turriff and surrounding area warrants having this service. It has a major impact on rural communities, removing services like this. Not everyone owns a car, and for elderly it could mean the difference between life and death !
This is a valuable resource for the people of Turriff and surroundings. It would be a travesty if it closed. I have had to take my son there twice and they were fantastic and acted quickly to get my son into hospital.
We need back asap

Minor injuries unit is vital to turriff and surrounding towns as a mother of 2 toddlers and many bumps and falls that occur whilst finding their feet and adventuring it fills me with dread to think an accident could occuer and miles to travel to be checked over
