We the undersigned support the Malton and Pickering Mercury's campaign to reverse the cuts to the opening hours of Malton Hospital's Minor Injuries Unit.
The Mercury is joining Ryedale District Councillor Lindsay Burr in calling on the Primary Care Trust and NHS Scarborough and Ryedale Clinical Commission Group to reverse the decision to cut the opening hours of the unit from seven days a week to 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Further support has come from MP Anne Mcintosh, Dr Mike Lynch, the senior partner at Derwent Practice, local councillors and members of the public.
The move, which will be reviewed in March, has led to fears over further cuts at the hospital.

sick of these cuts destroying our local services. hands off malton hospital!!!
Living in Ryedale means we already have to travel too far for proper care. Dont make it any worse.
What are people supposed to do on the weekends? drive all the way to York? complete madness.
KEEP IT OPEN. Its a vital service for the elderly and families in this area. Stop cutting corners on our health.
My kid needed stitches on a saturday night once. If this unit was closed we would have been in real trouble.
