  • I currently have a CuddleCot at my house that I am trying to get to the Dawson Creek Hospital Maternity Ward. This is paid for through donations at no cost to them to have. I have been in constant battle trying to get it there. I feel this would be very beneficial to parents that have lost a baby between the age of 4 month to 10 month gestation.

Updates

May 5, 2017

I have finalized the formal proposal regarding the donation logistics and submitted it to the hospital administration office for review. My next step involves coordinating with a provincial health board representative to verify the facility requirements for this equipment.

May 5, 2017

The administration at the local hospital has agreed to a formal meeting to discuss the implementation of this equipment. I am currently drafting a letter that outlines the logistical requirements for the transfer and maintenance of the unit.

If I was ever in the position of needing this I would be greatful for it. Don't let red tape deny this donation to our hospital.

Why not have a cuddle cot to offer grieving parents during a very difficult time, so they can have more time with their babies!!

Every parent should have the option to say goodbye to their child in their own way. Even if this bassinet is only used once or twice a yet at the DC Hospital it will be a comfort to those who choose to use it.

As a pastor in our community, I can see how this would have a tremendous positive impact on families who are experiencing a great loss.

The CuddleCot would have been so nice to have when I had my little baby at 21 weeks. I had to go in for a D&C shortly after having her. So to return and have her looking somewhat life like would have been very nice. Mind you I still held her after. For such a short time we get with babies born so early, it would be nice to admire them for a little longer as it's the only chance we get!

It saddens me that pieces of equipment like this are needed but the reality is that there are many families out there that would appreciate it. FSJ hospital has at least 1 and let me tell you when tragedy stuck in our family we were grateful to have it.

Every little thing we can do to provide comfort for grieving families during the loss of their precious little one should be a priority to us, and to the people in a position to make it happen.

Something so small that could make a huge difference in one or many families' lives.
