As a long time Mazda customer, I am saddened to discover that Mazda USA does not offer a Mazda 6 Grand Touring with a manual transmission. It has recently come to my attention that such a vehicle is offered for the Canadian market by Mazda Canada, and is prominently featured on the Mazda Canada website.

After doing some research, I discovered that calendar year 2014 sales of Mazda USA, counting all models, was 4 times higher than those of Mazda Canada. More importantly, calendar year 2014 Mazda 6 sales for Mazda USA were more than 17 times higher than those of Mazda Canada. That said, I believe there is a solid business model for bringing such a vehicle to the US market. Such a vehicle, based on perceived interest here in the US, could even potentially outsell Mazda Canada's total sales for the entire Mazda 6 lineup.

For a car company that puts so much emphasis on its "Zoom Zoom" and "born from a sports car heritage", it seems to be a glaring oversight to NOT offer such a vehicle in the United States. Adding such a vehicle to the North American lineup would further solidify Mazda's position as the car company that "car people" prefer to drive..
