Subject: Future Chevy SS Owners Want A Manual Option Now
Hi,
We, prospective future owners of the much anticipated 2014 Chevy SS performance sedan, respectfully request that in light of the decision to build-to-order, buyers be given the opportunity to select the option of a manual transmission. We feel the lack of a manual 6 speed or 7 speed is a potential deal-killer for a great many enthusiasts.
That's why I created a petition to Mark Reuss, GM President Of North America, which says:
"Chevy has announced that the much anticipated 2014 Chevy SS performance sedan will only be sold on a build-to-order basis. In light of this we need the option of selecting a manual transmission. Since the car is built to order on the same line as its Holden counterpart, which has an optional manual, we believe ours is a reasonable request."
Thanks!
I have finalized a formal letter addressed to the GM North America leadership team outlining the technical feasibility of integrating the manual transmission option. My focus is now on securing a meeting with the engineering product planning division to discuss why this build architecture is essential for enthusiasts.

The current volume of support necessitates a formal brief for the GM product planning team. I am finalizing the technical argument regarding platform compatibility with the Holden architecture for delivery to executive leadership.

I will buy this car immediately if it has a vette transmission attached to a vette LT1 motor and a bit more aggressive appearance! I love the Holdens....I own a GTO.

I'll be in the market for a new 2016 model in late 2015. If the SS is available with a manual transmission (preferably with a track-focused options package) it will be at the top of my shopping list.

Id definitely buy the car with a manual transmission. A manual would help with the poor gas mileage, but the gas mileage would greatly benefit from the LT1's new features mated to the 7-speed.

Give me a stick shift and I am sold. Simple as that. Been waiting for a proper manual sedan for years.
