St. Louis based smoke shop, Mr. Nice Guy is seeking to expand into the Chicago market, but has been met with concern regarding their business practices. Help spread the word that Mr. Nice Guy is a reputable contributor to communities and practices following safe guidelines that keep our products in the age appropriate hands. After two years with three locations in St. Louis, the areas where each shop is located have only continued to grow and prosper and are in great neighborhoods!
Chicago, including Lincoln Square already boasts dozens of bars, liquor stores, tobacco shops, smoke shops, medical marijuana dispensaries, hookah bars and hookah lounges!

We are beginning this petition so that the public can see that our clients are normal every day people, as there has been a petition started calling for the close of the new location - we would just like equal opportunity to relieve concerns and any misconceptions about how Mr. Nice Guy markets and operates. The increase in support has been significant and it demonstrates that many local residents appreciate our perspective. This level of engagement provides us with a clear mandate to continue our dialogue with the community representatives.

Lincoln Square resident here - if it were up to the parents of this area protesting this business, swearing would probably be illegal! It's just a smoke shop and they seem to be very willing to work with the area to make everyone happy.
A family owned, small business, is what this area needs more of. We have seen enough vacancies over the last few years. It also sounds like everyone is reasonable, and willing to make sure they respect the concerns of those who have voiced their problems. I see no logical reason to push them away!
As Mr. Nice Guy attests to there are a ton of head shops etc in the neighborhood - we're pretty open minded. There is NO need to be by the school. Per zoning regulations this shop is considered exactly 100' feet from the school (if they're lucky). The LAW is from property line (of the building) to property line of the school they are NOT "well in excess" of the requirements as stated. There is a gaming store next door that attracts a lot of under aged children as well. If they are willing to do what ever it takes to make the community happy they would simply move one block down the street. Additionally, the store front is almost 100% window - you can see clear from the street to the back of the shop, so unless they screen the window the products will be visible. Also, they won't be able to sell flavored tobacco - they would need to be 500' feet from the school to do this.
The people need their weed. .

They are definitely a good shop and should be able to put up anywhere. If porn shops and dollar stores can put up, why can't a tobacco shop. Why can a cigar shop? And not Mr Nice Guy
