We the undersigned are calling on Plymouth City Council to bring back the diving boards on the Plymouth Pier beach, which could be funding by the national lottery, sporting England, the English heritage fund and local business and donations.

We would consider Health and safety plans to have the diving boards smaller than before and Plan to write into the Funding bids for the stream for 10 year maintenance plans.

I spent my morning walking along the pier and remembering how these boards defined my childhood summers. The council remains quiet for now but your stories in the comments prove that this space belongs to all of us.

Seeing this much support for our diving boards honestly leaves me speechless. I remember jumping off those boards as a kid and it feels incredible to know so many of you share that same hope for our beach.

If Plymouth truly wants to live up to it's aspiration to be Britain's Ocean City then Tinside Beach and the lower waterfront area by the Lions Den needs to be regenerated. Bringing back the diving boards and swimming pontoons and sprucing the area up would be a great start .....

I remember the Hoe boards and free pools from the 70's. They should never have been taken away.

I have only used it once but its great to see the young people enjoying the boards when they were there. Great public attraction.

Remember watching people diving from this in 1979 to 1982 when I was at the Plymouth Poly. Always spectacular entertainment! Please bring it back to 21st century standards. to
