Please sign our petition to try and get a water park installed in ponty park
Since the paddling pool was closed our children and grandchildren have missed out on hours of fun...you cannot get into the lido unless you book or que for an hour...we need something more a water park would bring families back to the park and give our new generation hours of fun as I'm sure so many of you out there had in the paddling pool x

Couldn't agree more! Although the lido is great and I'm grateful to have it local to me it is really difficult to get space! A splash pad would be a great addition to Ponty park and would only help bring extra people into the town centre.
The lido is great but it hasn't been a perfect substitute for the paddling pool in the park-yes it brings in revenue and attracts tourists but it is constantly booked up, frequently overcrowded and children under the age of five have nowhere to play safely in the water.
some thing like this for the younger kiddies who are unable to go into the lido and just need a splash and paddle especially in this weather , where the mums can sit and picnic like the past, that pool is sorely missed by thousands, the council needs to realise this.
Since the big pool has gone I dont bother taking my daughter, the park is far too open with too many exists so makes it harder to keep track of her, yes rct put a disability swing in but what about children with other disabilitys that wonder
Travelled to Aberavon with the grandchildren today, & Blackpill, Swansea last weekend. When my children were young we had a paddling pool in our village & in our town of Pontypridd. Thanks to RCT, we now have neither.
Any news as apparently this was handed in two years ago.
Biggest mistake taking the old pool away.

Used the pool as a child and then for my children. But nothing for my grandson. Would like to sit on the grass with a picnic and let him paddle in the toddlers side of the pool and would bring income into the town. Which definitely needs it.
