The council finally agreed to restore the bus network for all our children. I am drained from this fight but the relief is overwhelming. We have to keep watching to make sure the implementation actually stays true to what they promised.

The days feel long and the feedback from the council remains frustratingly quiet. We are nearing one hundred signatures and I need you to push this link to your neighbors so they cannot ignore us any longer.

It concerns me greatly that my 11 year old son is forced to stand on a crowded bus right up the front for a trip that takes 1:15mins! This is downright dangerous, not too mention I’m spending $35 per week (for two kids) for this hopeless service. What a joke!!!
The new system sees my 6 year old spend over an hour a trip on a big bay hopper bus full of college kids...the old system was a smaller bus that was friendlier and it was a small group of children who knew each other and a regular bus driver who had the children's wellbeing at heart.
It is cheaper to put on free buses for children than build new roads! The traffic in the mornings and afternoons in this city is just shocking (but not during school holidays for some reason... wonder if this is linked?)!
The current public bus is so unreliable. I have taken my girls the Aquinas 3 days out of 7. Not good enough. Plus our bus turned away kids at Aquinas for the trip home because there were too may kids. Surely that warrants a designated school bus. We are all paying for it anyway.
Gutted they dropped our direct college busses in Maungatapu- we are in zone and more then happy to pay to have our children arrive at school directly and on time as I have for the last 4 years with 3 kids catching 3 different busses. It’s a joke!!!!

There is a saying 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' the old system worked, was reliable and more seats on the buses. New system, less seats, unreliable. School buses should be kept separate to public ones
