As of October 4th 2024, the AFROTC J100 scholarship was cancelled effective immediately. This scholarship pays tuition, housing and books and gives the chance for many students to attend college that would not otherwise have the financial opportunity. Hundreds of JROTC cadets apply every year and only 100 get selected. These cadets have spent most if not all of their years in high school serving their communities and schools, while also participating in teams and sports, just for the chance to apply for this prestigious scholarship opportunity. This petition will be sent to local congressman hoping to get this scholarship back!

The Air Force recruitment leaders have stayed silent while they strip away a lifeline for high school cadets who worked for years to earn this. Their total lack of transparency about this cancellation is an insult to every student who planned their future around this funding. I am currently hounding the offices of local representatives to demand they explain why this support vanished overnight.

The Air Force leadership keeps dodging our questions but they cannot ignore this growing roar of disapproval anymore. This momentum proves how many people realize that stealing this opportunity from deserving students is a disgrace.

I am a prior recipient of this scholarship and it has changed my life. Without it I would not have been able to afford college and it pushed me to want to serve my country.
JROTC has been an amazing thing for my child, along with many others and I implore you to please bring back this scholarship. My daughter has worked so hard to get this scholarship and was applying for it this year and right before she had a chance... she had the rug basically pulled out from under her. I can only imagine how many other young lives have been effected by just this one thing.
I hv watched Peabody MA kids over the years work tirelessly to compete for this scholarship, Please reinstate it.
I have seen these cadets in action and know they are fine, upstanding, committed cadets. The scholarship should be available to provide our Armed Services with the high quality cadets they are.
This scholarship has changed my son’s future. I have watched these cadets who are in process of applying work so hard for three or four years to qualify for this and now have had it pulled out from underneath them without warning. The winners of this scholarship commit to the Air Force upon graduation.
I wouldn't be where I am right now without this scholarship.

The J100 was an excellent program for high achieving students/cadets. Taking away this program disincentivizes them from pursuing a career in the Air Force. Please reconsider and bring it back.
