I believe I speak for everyone when I say that we would like to see our kettles make a return on each floor, just like we had in our previous office at Hatton Gardens. If a kettle is not possible, then they should at least, as a bare minimum, provide all employees with FREE hot water on each floor in our office.

These small things are basic necessities of the work place that all employees are entitled to. The fact that they have made us change offices, which let's be honest, is a complete downgrade from what we had previously, and stripped us of these privileges is completely unacceptable.

If you feel as strongly about this as I do, then I request that you sign this petition so that our voices can be heard. We will not stand idly by and let them take advantage of us like this.

Seeing the momentum behind this has been exhausting but it proves we are not alone in our frustration. It is clear that management expects us to just accept this downgrade without a word. They have underestimated how much we value these basic comforts.

I think our employers really need to appreciate this unanimous feeling of unhappiness. Living, working, and travelling in London is ridiculously expensive, especially compared to other cities. This is not simple moaning, these are genuine concerns and if simply ignored (like everything else seems to be) there is most certainly going to be a sudden surge in resignations. I might also add that we were not given a month's notice of the office move, as stated in our employment contract.

In addition, International Labour Organization R102 - Welfare Facilities Recommendation, 1956 (No. 102) states that the facility should provide " (a) a room in which provision suited to the climate is made for relieving discomfort from cold or heat; (b) adequate ventilation and lighting; (c) suitable tables and seating facilities in sufficient numbers; (d) appropriate appliances for heating food and beverages; (e) an adequate supply of wholesome drinking water". I believe all employees need to have a place where they can comfortably and safely eat their meals and rest during their work hours including nursing mothers.

This is from a HSE, health and safety executive, which is a body regulating welfare at work. This is the guidance for employers: http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg293.pdf What arrangements should I make for meal breaks? There should be a suitable seating area for workers to use during breaks - it needs to be clean and located where food will not get contaminated. There should be washing facilities nearby, and a means of heating food or water for hot drinks. You must maintain good hygiene standards. This is a minimum requirement

I consider kettle, microwave oven and fridge as basic facility for employee welfare that every office building should provide in this day and age. After hearing that my new office does not offer these conveniences, none of my family or friend could understand the reason behind the deficiency and consider my working place poor. Personally, I am the most inconvenienced by the lack of free, or in our case, any, hot water, as I do not drink caffeinated tea or coffee. We now have to buy all our hot drinks and lunch, which is a substantial increase in expense and inconvenience. I hope we can work to have a better working environment.

The office move has not been handled well. Information has only been offered by management after persistent badgering (begrudgingly) and in drips and drabs, creating an unpleasant atmosphere and culture of disconnect. Any responses or justifications have been brusque. With regards to the lack of kitchen facilities, we have essentially had a pay cut forced upon us as we are now expected to pick up the cost of a hot meal/drinks. The canteen is not an acceptable replacement as they do not provide access to a microwave and tea and coffee is still a considerable cost.

the lack of facilities in this office is poor, to the extent I can't work effectively and comfortably under these circumstances. Also having no where to heat up our food, means we have to buy elsewhere, and it is driving up our monthly food costs. Thus the provision of basic facilities such as kettle and microwave would be much appreciated.

I completly agree with the water ban. GlobalDATA is my kind of totalitarian regime. The senior management is too soft, they should also replace all toilet cubicals with simple shopping bags. Also please consider selling air at a flat rate of £1.25/sq mt.
