We, the undersigned, have watched as conflict has swept over the congregation, staff, and leadership of Lazy Mountain Bible Church over the past year. People have left the church because of it, and our shining beacon to the community has become tarnished. In every conflict, it is essential that both sides can express hurt and broken trust, and it has become apparent that communication between the congregants and the leadership of LMBC is broken.
In a desire to follow Matthew 5:9, "Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the sons of God," we are petitioning the church to bring in a third-party peacemaking group to work with LMBC's congregants and Elders/leadership to not only end the conflict but also facilitate repentance, reconciliation, and restoration. This peacemaking group will work with church members and leadership to build healthy communication and a way to proceed into true unity.
For those who are concerned, we are looking for an out-of-state third party. Alaska is a little too "Small Town" in Christian circles. Praying for wisdom for the elders. We just need to stop the infighting before there is no church left.
Whatever it takes to get people talking again. I just want our church to feel like a family again.
I feel like a third party is the only fair way to settle this mess. Things have been toxic for way to long.
An out of state mediator should be a last resort, especially with how much they charge. We should look to our community to be of help. Maybe consider an unbiased pastor in the valley or in Anchorage who could sit in as a mediator first.
It has been so hard to watch friends leave the church over this. We need someone from the outside who doesnt know everyone personally to help us move forward honestly.
This is a beautiful petition--in fact, it is the most beautiful petition I've ever seen--in the entire history of petitions. And you know what, that's why I am SIGNING it, becaus it's a beautiful petition. Signing it just like I sign legislation and my beautiful executive orders--like declassifying the Kennedy and MLK files--okay, but maybe not as fun as those, because, you know, they have SECRETS, which should not be kept from the American people. What a shame those were still secret, just like the drones. We're working the drones--trust me you'll be impressed. And you know, speaking of secrets, do you know why I love Diet Coke? Because it's CRISP-like the last couple of days here in Washington-crisp and cool, like a January morning in beautiful DC. And it's not STICKY, like normal Coke, because of the corn SYRUP they add to normal Coke, which RFK Jr. has ranted about--you know what? I think we need to BAN IT, because it is bad for you and because it is STICKY... which is what happens to us when the air conditioning goes out in Mar-A-Lago--and that's because the AC units are made in CHINA--but not for long, because my beautiful tariffs will make them too expensive and they will be built in our beautiful country once again. This does not seem like a peace movement to me. You want to bring in another pastor to fix issues within the church? That is so degrading to Dr. Daughtry. Thank God he is a better pastor than I could be because I would leave. That is like a wife bringing in another man to show her husband how to fix his household. I have been to churches all over the world and our pastor/elder board is exceptional at what they do. Rather than causing more problems, we should be praying God gives strength to our pastor, assistant pastor, and elder board so they do not leave.
